Add a water

Add a water: an optional location or zone, like 'Kamloops, BC', that you attach to trip types to organize trips and show anglers where you operate.

Waters are optional locations or zones (for example 'Kamloops, BC') you attach to trip types for organization and to show clients where a trip operates. You can run your whole outfit without them.

Create one

  1. Go to Areas and choose Add Area.
  2. Name it, and optionally add a description, state/province, country, and map coordinates.
  3. Optionally nest it under a parent area (e.g. 'Kamloops' under 'British Columbia').
  4. Save, then link it to trip types from the trip type form.

Set a meeting point once for the whole water

If every trip on a water launches from the same spot — a boat launch, a fly shop parking lot — set it on the water itself: the area form has Meeting Point and Meeting Point Address fields, with the same address autocomplete as the trip type form. Every trip type linked to that water inherits it automatically.

On the trip type form, picking a water shows what it would inherit — "Inherits from Lower Fraser: Island 22 Boat Launch" — with a Customize for this trip option when one trip launches somewhere different. A customized trip type keeps its own meeting point (or explicitly none); switching back to Use fishing area meeting point re-inherits. Clients see the resolved meeting point in their portal and Trip Packet, and guides see it in their view — and a booking's own travel details still win for that booking.

The payoff is one place to change it: move the launch and every inheriting trip type, portal, and trip packet updates at once. Trip types that were customized keep their own meeting point until you switch them back.

Waters are optional, unlimited on every plan, and independent — adding or removing one never breaks a trip type.
