See Exactly What Your Anglers and Guides See Before You Invite Them

The moment most guides hesitate in setting up Fishing Outfitter isn’t the booking calendar or the payment settings; it’s the invite button. You’re about to send a client to a portal you’ve never seen through their eyes, and a guide to an app you don’t log into yourself. Now you can see both first.

The client portal, with a sample angler

See what your anglers will see opens your client portal as it looks to an angler named Sam, who is booked on your own first active trip type, in your season and on your water. If you haven’t set up a trip type yet, Sam is booked on a sample full-day float instead. Everything around Sam is yours: your logo and brand color, your welcome message, and your FAQ, photo gallery, gear list and menu on the plans that include each of them. A tab your plan doesn’t include is marked, because your clients won’t see it either. Sam’s countdown, pre-trip checklist, documents and payment schedule show you what a real angler will be working through, and the banner at the top gives you the address your clients actually sign in at.

Nothing in the preview is saved or sent. The Pay Now button is there but switched off, and if Stripe isn’t connected yet, the preview tells you clients will see your wire or check instructions instead. An angler’s own Documents, To-Dos, Travel and Profile tabs aren’t reproduced, because they hold that angler’s records rather than anything you configured.

You’ll find the preview where you’re most likely to want it: on the setup checklist, under the welcome message in Settings, on the Gear List page as Preview as angler, at the top of the Clients page as Preview as client, and again when someone is waiting for their invite. It always shows the sample angler, never a real client’s account.

The guide app, with a sample guide

Preview as guide, on the Guides page, does the same for the field side. A sample guide named Jordan lands on the home screen your guides will see, with the menu your plan gives them, your season checklist banner if you’ve set one, and the sample trip with its meeting point. It’s the quickest way to check what a new guide’s first morning looks like before you send the invite, and the link also appears on a guide’s page while their invite is still pending.

Starter and Solo don’t include the Guides page, so on those plans the guide preview lives at /preview/guide in your dashboard.

Who can use it, and on which plans

Both previews are open to owners and admins on every plan, including the free Starter plan. The preview help article lists every place to open them and what each one leaves out. If you’re setting up now, open the setup checklist and click See what your anglers will see; if you haven’t started, create a free account and look at your portal before anyone else does.
